Spark Tally Friday!

This was a week of recovery. 8000 words to the story that I lost 13000 for and then the next start was still no good so another 3000 was gone. Julie has approved the new start so it’s up to the crit group now. This is the start I want though. I do believe I have it right and I know I’ve said that before, but this is it :) It’s just the protagonist by herself. I’ve gotten rid of characters that were superfluous. So I feel confident that I’m keeping all 8000 words this time. And, I was able to save some scenes, so the story is back up to 13k. Hooray!

I’m exhausted :) This week’s Starbucks card goes to David Lee Summers for a great guest blog. If you haven’t read it yet, check it out. He talks about writing to specific markets which I found really helpful.

How was your writing week?

  1. congrats, Melinda, on a fabulous writing week. I wrote 2,100 words this week. I revised two chapters of my children’s book, revised a short short children’s story, and wrote a new short speculative story. I love that writing paves the way to adventures, even if they are only in our minds.
